David Carson is proof that design is art for the people.
Chaotic & jarring. Irreverent. Ingenious? Or terrible design?
People still debate over David Carson’s designs & his legacy.
In a past life he was a sociology teacher. In the 90’s he founded & steered the art direction for Raygun – a grid-free rock magazine that was partially intelligible, scattered & unconventional. It was also groundbreaking.
He’s positive & hilarious. His speech at TED based on design+discovery is worth watching for designers & non-designers alike.
